Patrol Rifle Operator Course (OC Depts. ONLY)

| FreeThis 3-day course will focus to develop and enhance officer’s skills in the use of a police patrol rifle. Topics covered fundamentals of rifle operation, maintenance, handling and basic marksmanship. Officer’s will shoot at various distances, shooting on the move and positional shooting. Officer’s will show proficiency in reloading techniques and handling common rifle malfunctions.
At the end of day 3, officers will conduct the New Jersey AG’s Qualification Course and will receive a certificate with a passing score.
This course has limited availability and is only open to officers currently working in Ocean County law enforcement organizations only at this time.
Only 2 per department.
Required equipment:
- Duty or Training Uniform
- Eye and ear protection
- Duty patrol rifle
- Duty belt rifle magazine pouch
- 3 Rifle magazines minimum
- 600 rounds of practice rifle ammunition
- 10 dummy rounds
- Duty pistol
- Duty Holster
- Pistol magazine pouch
- 100 rounds pistol ammunition
This course will be held rain or shine. Bring appropriate clothing based on the weather.
