(Rescheduled) Critical Incident Management: The Supervisors Role in Managing High Risk Operations (AM & PM Sessions)

The Ocean County Regional SWAT Team will be instructing *Two (2) 3-hour training blocks on proven strategies to recognize and resolve critical incidents for local agencies. This course is designed to inform and prepare officers, especially supervisors and OICs, in the handling of potentially life-threatening incidents. The main objective is to identify the difference between situations that can be resolved at the agency level and when notifications to the SWAT Team are needed. Discussion will include agency responsibilities prior to notification of SWAT, during and post incident. Emphasis will also be placed on and how to ensure that the SWAT and mutual aid response is both coordinated and organized.
Some of the topics covered include:
Defining EDP/Criminal barricaded person
Deciding when to use a SWAT Team
Where and how to set up a perimeter and command post
How to activate SWAT Team and efficiently coordinate the response
Utilizing a crisis entry/arrest team
Requesting mutual aid
Negotiations
Background Investigation
Execution of high risk search & arrest warrants
Warrantless entries
Barricade person
Terrorist Incident
Hostage situations

AM SESSION WILL BE HELD FROM 9AM-NOON.
PM SESSION WILL BE HELD FROM 1PM-4PM.
