Too often police officers are dispatched to assist with an “out of control child” and their arrival can make things worse. If we expect responding officers to handle such an incident, they need the proper tools. This class is instructed by a child crises specialist that will teach officers to identify the type of crisis the child is experiencing and best strategy for that crisis.

For example, is the child throwing a “tantrum” or having a “meltdown”?

Are they on the autism spectrum?

Are they non-verbal?

If they cannot identify the problem, they’ll never find the right solution.
