The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office will be holding its 8th annual Youth Police Academy at the Ocean County Police Academy. The camp will run from Monday, August 21 to Friday, August 25, 2023, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The youth academy is open to all kids ages 11-13, and is offered on a first come, first serve basis with a maximum of 50 applicants being accepted. Children should be dropped off between 8:15 and 8:30am at the Ocean County Police Academy (659 Ocean Avenue, Lakewood, NJ), and picked up no later than 3:15pm. All children attending the camp should have a good breakfast before arrival at the academy, and bring their own lunches. (Refrigerator and microwave on premises)
The camp will include physical training, military etiquette, marching, defensive tactics, and demonstrations in the areas of SWAT, K9, Crime Scene Investigations and much more. All children will receive an Academy T-Shirt and Ball cap. All children should wear black shorts, white socks, sneakers, and a white t-shirt.
