SUMMARY:S.A.R.I.A. - Search and Rescue Initial Actions
DESCRIPTION:Course Goal: This 8-hour course was designed to prepare Law Enforcement Agencies to respond and take correct initial actions in starting an investigation and search for lost/missing individuals and will have a specific focus on search for individuals with dementia and autism. This course will cover the duties of an incident commander in a SAR incident\, incident size-up\, mission documentation\, initials search tactics and the practical applications of lost person behavior in both lecture and hands-on tabletop sessions based on real missions. After the completion of the course\, students will be able to plot theoretical and statistical search areas\, identify the highest probability areas to deploy SAR resources\, have direction as to additional investigation paths and rapidly field tasks to ensure the best possible outcome for the subject. \nTarget Audience: State\, county and local government law enforcement\, emergency managers\, other emergency management staff\, including but not limited to fire service\, emergency medical services\, public health\, public works and other local government employees responsible for assisting before\, during or after an emergency. \nRequired Prerequisites: None. \nRegistration: Please register at the link below. DESCRIPTION:Money is the common denominator in almost all crimes\, but many of us lack the skills to conduct a proper investigation. \nThis class will provide a foundation of financial crimes investigative methods and trends utilized to engage in the crimes of theft by: \n\ndeception\,\nembezzlement\,\ncounterfeit checks\,\ncredit card fraud\,\nidentity theft\,\nelder fraud\,\ncontractor fraud\,\ncryptocurrency\,\nand money laundering.\n\nThis class is geared toward both patrol officers and detectives. SUMMARY:Cannabis lmpairment Detection
DESCRIPTION:This program will give officers an overview of drugged driving and when they should contact a DRE. \nThe legalization of marijuana has created a new challenge for law enforcement officers: investigating driving while under the influence of cannabis. Drugged driving indicators are different than those of driving under the influence of alcohol. \nThis one-day class is designed to give officers a comprehensive overview of the signs\, symptoms\, indicators\, and roadside tests that can help an officer determine if a driver is under the influence of cannabis. Officers will also get an overview of basic DWI case law\, as well as a review of recent DWI decisions.
