SUMMARY:Planning the Active Shooter Drill (Remote)
DESCRIPTION:This is a remote course only. \nThe incidents of ACTIVE SHOOTERS have increased nationwide. \nThis program works with students to prepare their officers for an Active Shooter Incident.  During the course the instructors will review the NEWEST Tactical Response Protocols and Guidelines and teach how to implement these lessons to your officers. The course teaches how to run a drill from planning meetings including stakeholders to running the drill and how to include and prepare the community.  The course will have a walk through drill segment so every student can learn the newest protocols for drills and how to prepare their officers.  \nThe jam-packed day will also include: \n\nComplying with Federal and State Standards for Active Shooter Drills\nEvaluating your policies and updating them as necessary\nDocumenting the drill lesson plans and student attendance\nEvaluating your drills and making improvements\nCoordinating with schools and different agencies\nChoosing drill location and scenarios\nImplementing various levels of drills including coordinating with other emergency agencies\nActive shooter drills & special needs community- how to prepare\, what to expect\, and how to respond\nNewest equipment and software to better respond to an active shooter event\nReview of emergency notifications systems including how to use radio systems from neighboring towns\n\nA segment will focus on school security to include evaluating school security\, working with school administration and addressing their concerns\, and developing plans for security updates.   Every student will receive an Active Shooter Drill PowerPoint to use at their agencies. \nTo register: Click here

SUMMARY:Sexual Assault Investigations (Remote)
DESCRIPTION:This is a remote course only. \nWhether the sexual assault is committed by a stranger or someone who is known to the victim\, conducting the sexual investigation requires skill\, compassion and diligence. \nIn the investigation and prosecution of most sexual assault cases\, the role of the victim is much more important than in other crimes since the victim is usually the sole witness to the crime. Unfortunately\, sexual assault victims are sometimes reluctant to cooperate with law enforcement because they fear the perpetrator will return to retaliate. It is therefore imperative the sexual assault investigators understand victim responses and utilize the appropriate interview skills necessary in these cases.  Not all victims of sexual assault behave in the same manner\, so it is essential the investigator be informed\, of mental and physical reaction to sexual assault.  Understanding and working with your victim is crucial to successfully prosecuting these cases. \nFor more information or to register: Click here

DESCRIPTION:This course is remote only. \nA plan implemented by supervisory team to offer the failing officer opportunity to become a positive asset ensuring that the full value of an employee’s work is seen on a daily basis.  \nThis program also helps supervisors find effective ways to challenge the high-performing officers without performance punishing and creating poor morale in the agency. \nEvery agency strives to hire the best possible people.  Unfortunately\, we do have employees that have unforeseen challenges and difficulties in the work place which often have a negative effect on the officer\, agency and community. \n     The Employee Development Plan (EDP) is a positive process used by the supervisory team to clearly identify an employee’s specific deficiencies while working with him or her to create a workable plan to overcome identified issues. \n     Students are taught the EDP’s step-by-step process which identifies areas of concern\, sets attainable goals\, agreed upon solutions are made\, and specific timetable to assess progress is formed.  This program sets success criteria that is clearly established and documented so that progress or lack of is unmistakable.   \nTo register: Click here
