Unfortunately\, we do have employees that have unforeseen challenges and difficulties in the workplace which often have a negative effect on the officer\, agency\, and community. \nThe Employee Development Plan (EDP) is a positive process used by the supervisory team to clearly identify an employee’s specific deficiencies while working with him or her to create a workable plan to overcome identified issues. \nStudents are taught the EDP’s step-by-step process which identifies areas of concern\, sets attainable goals\, agreed upon solutions are made\, and specific timetable to assess progress is formed.  This program sets success criteria that is clearly established and documented so that progress or lack of is unmistakable.

DESCRIPTION:Maximum capacity for class is 30.   \nThis mandatory training is for Ocean County municipalities only.  \nThis course will be held at the Ocean County Prosecutors Office\, Turnbach Meeting Room located in the basement level of 119 Hooper Avenue\, Toms River. \n“The men and women in law enforcement put their lives on the line every day in the name of protecting and serving the citizens of New Jersey. Law enforcement officers are often the first to respond to a scene and frequently witness the most traumatic events that happen in their communities. The emotional and mental toll on the officer’s wellbeing can build up over time\, creating a stressful and unhealthy environment for the officer\, causing health- and social-related issues\, such as high blood pressure\, heart disease\, diabetes\, family and relationship stress\, and\, in some cases\, self-harm. Thus\, it is of the utmost importance that New Jersey’s law enforcement officers have the necessary tools to better cope with the unique stressors of their job. By providing officers with coping mechanisms to take care of their wellbeing\, we are helping them be resilient. \nResiliency is the ability to overcome adversity\, and the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement (NJRP-LE) is designed to do just that.  Equally important to protecting a law enforcement officer’s physical safety\, is protecting his or her mental health. It is time to create a positive culture for not only law enforcement officers\, but for their families\, friends\, and the larger New Jersey community”. \nGeneral Resiliency training for all sworn officers throughout the county is a two day training.  These trainings will be full days and it is expected that officers will be responsible for their own breakfast and lunches for those two days with the expectation that officers will remain in the classroom.  Once a class hits 25 students\, registration will be closed and you will have to register for an alternate date.

Unfortunately\, sexual assault victims are sometimes reluctant to cooperate with law enforcement because they fear the perpetrator will return to retaliate. SUMMARY:Crisis Intervention & Verbal De-Escalation for the First Responder
DESCRIPTION:In any type of a crisis call that your officers respond to\, how the first officer on scene handles it can make a life-saving difference. SUMMARY:NJSP Firearms Laws & Applications
DESCRIPTION:This course\, offered by the New Jersey State Police Firearms Unit\, will provide officers with the skills to properly handle the investigative process for firearms identification cards and handgun purchase permits requested by their community members.  The students will understand the components of the Purchaser ID cards and Permit to Carry ID cards and learn the elements of each type of permit.  Students will also be able to identify the elements that disqualify applicants for firearms.  Discussion topics will include the 2C Chapter 58 and 2C Chapter 39 statutes and how Federal Laws relate to the State Firearms laws.  \nConducted by:  New Jersey State Police Firearms Unit \nTuition: None \nTHIS IS A ONE DAY COURSE \n[wpecr_registration_button]
