SUMMARY:MANDATED Resiliency Training for Law Enforcement Officers
DESCRIPTION:Maximum capacity for class is 30.   \nThis mandatory training is for Ocean County municipalities only.  \nThis course will be held at the Ocean County Prosecutors Office\, Turnbach Meeting Room located in the basement level of 119 Hooper Avenue\, Toms River. \n“The men and women in law enforcement put their lives on the line every day in the name of protecting and serving the citizens of New Jersey. Law enforcement officers are often the first to respond to a scene and frequently witness the most traumatic events that happen in their communities. The emotional and mental toll on the officer’s wellbeing can build up over time\, creating a stressful and unhealthy environment for the officer\, causing health- and social-related issues\, such as high blood pressure\, heart disease\, diabetes\, family and relationship stress\, and\, in some cases\, self-harm. Thus\, it is of the utmost importance that New Jersey’s law enforcement officers have the necessary tools to better cope with the unique stressors of their job. By providing officers with coping mechanisms to take care of their wellbeing\, we are helping them be resilient. \nResiliency is the ability to overcome adversity\, and the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement (NJRP-LE) is designed to do just that.  Equally important to protecting a law enforcement officer’s physical safety\, is protecting his or her mental health. It is time to create a positive culture for not only law enforcement officers\, but for their families\, friends\, and the larger New Jersey community”. \nGeneral Resiliency training for all sworn officers throughout the county is a two day training.  These trainings will be full days and it is expected that officers will be responsible for their own breakfast and lunches for those two days with the expectation that officers will remain in the classroom.  Once a class hits 25 students\, registration will be closed and you will have to register for an alternate date.

The cost for Dual Certification using this format is $1800.\n\nIf you are a Head Instructor at a County Police Academy and your participation has been approved by the Police Training Commission (PTC)\, you may enroll in this DUAL course at a reduced cost of $1600 per person. SUMMARY:Sexual Assault Investigations (Remote)
DESCRIPTION:This is a remote course only. \nWhether the sexual assault is committed by a stranger or someone who is known to the victim\, conducting the sexual investigation requires skill\, compassion and diligence. \nIn the investigation and prosecution of most sexual assault cases\, the role of the victim is much more important than in other crimes since the victim is usually the sole witness to the crime. Unfortunately\, sexual assault victims are sometimes reluctant to cooperate with law enforcement because they fear the perpetrator will return to retaliate. It is therefore imperative the sexual assault investigators understand victim responses and utilize the appropriate interview skills necessary in these cases.  Not all victims of sexual assault behave in the same manner\, so it is essential the investigator be informed\, of mental and physical reaction to sexual assault.  Understanding and working with your victim is crucial to successfully prosecuting these cases. \nFor more information or to register: Click here

SUMMARY:Building a Cohesive Leadership Team Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Lt. Joseph Pangaro (Ret.) \nPangaro Training a Division of IP Video and True Security \nwww.ipvideocorp.com/truesecuritydesign \n  \nDear Chief; \nThank you for your trust in Pangaro Training.  It is a privilege to teach the men and women of law enforcement who serve our communities.   \nA few years ago\, I had the opportunity to take part in a very unique leadership program offered by Peak Performance Consulting.  As a former police executive\, I know how important it is to have the leadership team of any agency function as an efficient and productive team where all the members contribute to reach the goals of the agency. While this is a great idea\, it is not always easy to achieve.  \nThis is where I found great value in the executive training program “The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team” presented by Ms. Kiki Orski of Peak Performance. I believe every law enforcement agency would benefit from this training.  It is especially important in this day of accreditation for agencies to continue the professional development of their executive team.  \nWe are offering a free 2-hour executive training to you.  During this program you will be offered effective ways you can build a truly cohesive and effective leadership team. You will also have an opportunity to discuss any challenges your team may be experiencing and learn ways to mitigate those challenges.    \nPlease join us on April 1\, 2020 from 9am- 11am at Ocean County Police Academy \n for the program: Building a Cohesive Leadership Team.  \nAlong with training materials\, we provide coffee and danish.    \nPlease RSVP to kpangaro@truesecuritydesign.com or call 732-779-3406 with the names of those to attend so we can have certificates the day of class.  Unfortunately\, we only have room for 8 agencies to attend\, so please RSVP as soon as possible.    \nAgain\, thank you for your continued support.  I hope you can attend to take advantage of one of the best programs I have ever participated in. We look forward to seeing you on April 1\, 2020. \nLt. Joseph Pangaro (Ret.) CPM\, CSO  \n732-600-8976 \nFive Behaviors Program Overview Flyer

SUMMARY:Alcohol License Transfer Investigations
DESCRIPTION:Liquor License Investigation\nNew and Transfer Licenses \nLearning where to look and what to ask can make the difference in a legitimate transfer and one that can involve organized crime. \nThe Transfer of a Liquor License is a vital process for any municipality. In many towns and cities the investigation associated with this process is given little or no attention\, which allows for corruption in the transfer. \nThis program will provide the investigator responsible for this type of investigation the tools and tactics needed to uncover impropriety including: tracking the source of cash\, discovering the true hidden partners\, and ensuring that all of the pertinent laws are followed. A solid transfer investigation requires that an officer explore areas that are different that a normal criminal investigation. \nRegister and make payment by following this link: https://zs3axjs8hv.timetap.com\nOr call 631-675-2231

SUMMARY:LSU NCBRT Law Enforcement Prevention and Deterrence of Terrorist Acts (FULL)
DESCRIPTION:This course trains law enforcement personnel on actions they can take to prevent\, deter and respond to terrorist acts. The law enforcement officer is part of the front line defense in preventing and deterring WMD terrorist incidents where the release of WMD agents is likely to occur because of criminal actions. The nature of law enforcement officers’ daily work environment provides them with an enhanced understanding of the community not shared by the public. This heightened community awareness provides law enforcement officers with a unique opportunity to prevent or deter potential WMD terrorist incidents. \nThis awareness level course focuses on the recognition\, prevention\, and deterrence of terrorist activity and crime-related high consequence events for law enforcement and other public safety professionals. Subject areas covered in the course include intelligence gathering\, threat recognition\, community-oriented policing\, counterfeit identification detection\, information sharing among agencies and chemical\, biological\, radiological\, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) agents or materials that can be procured either legitimately or illegally to produce a WMD. \nEVERY PARTICIPANT NEEDS TO HAVE REGISTERED FOR A FEMA SID # BEFORE THE COURSE DATE.\nhttps://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID/ \n

SUMMARY:Field Training Officer - Penn State Justice & Safety Institute
DESCRIPTION:The future of a police department is significantly impacted by the field training officer (FTO). The FTO is a vital member of the department\, responsible for training new recruits and determining the viability of these recruits as law enforcement officers. When FTOs are properly trained\, they can help make sound personnel decisions and avoid future performance and legal issues. \nThe Penn State Justice and Safety Institute (JASI) is pleased to partner with our co-sponsor to offer this powerful three-day program\, which is designed to prepare officers for field-training responsibilities. Rather than using a previously formulated method of instruction\, we teach what we believe to be the best of each method\, and then allow trainees to devise their own program. This highly interactive class places an emphasis on imparting the knowledge and skills needed to properly train and mentor recruits for work as law enforcement officers. \nFor more information and to register:  https://jasi.psu.edu/cjpt/training-programs/field-training-officer/
