SUMMARY:Red Dot Pistol Course
DESCRIPTION:The course will focus on draw stroke\, applying the fundamentals of marksmanship\, and combat follow through while utilizing a pistol mounted red dot sight. Emphasis will be on stance\, grip\, trigger control\, sight picture\, speed\, and accuracy. Various red dot sight models\, mounting options\, emitter choices\, parallax\, and iron sight options will also be discussed. \nOC Depts. ONLY\, limit 2 per department. \nGoal: \n\nRapid execution of the fundamentals of marksmanship\nUtilizing the red dot mounted pistol as a close quarters combat weapon\nExecute a consistent combat follow through\nConduct optic failure drills.\n\nDuration: 1-Days (10-Hours) \nTuition: No Cost \nAmmunition: 750 Pistol Rounds \nEquipment Required: \n\nDuty Pistol\,\nthree magazines\,\nduty holster\,\nand duty magazine pouches.\n\nIf you wear an outer carrier with magazine pouches affixed\, it is recommended you utilize them for the course.  Participants should come prepared to train in all weather conditions and should bring hydration and any food required. Wrap around eye protection\, ear protection\, and brimmed hats will be worn during all live fire training. Participants should wear clothing suitable for training\, but similar to garments worn while working.

SUMMARY:Patrol Rifle Operator Course (OC Depts. ONLY)
DESCRIPTION:This 3-day course will focus to develop and enhance officer’s skills in the use of a police patrol rifle. Topics covered fundamentals of rifle operation\, maintenance\, handling and basic marksmanship. Officer’s will shoot at various distances\, shooting on the move and positional shooting. Officer’s will show proficiency in reloading techniques and handling common rifle malfunctions. \nAt the end of day 3\, officers will conduct the New Jersey AG’s Qualification Course and will receive a certificate with a passing score. \nThis course has limited availability and is only open to officers currently working in Ocean County law enforcement organizations only at this time.\nOnly 2 per department. \nRequired equipment: \n\nDuty or Training Uniform\nEye and ear protection\nDuty patrol rifle\nDuty belt rifle magazine pouch\n3 Rifle magazines minimum\n600 rounds of practice rifle ammunition\n10 dummy rounds\nDuty pistol\nDuty Holster\nPistol magazine pouch\n100 rounds pistol ammunition\n\nThis course will be held rain or shine. Bring appropriate clothing based on the weather. \nBring food & drink.
