SUMMARY:Planning the Active Shooter Drill
DESCRIPTION:*This course is REMOTE ONLY. \nHave you integrated all the newest guidelines ensuring your officers agency\, and community are ready to effectively deal with an active shooter incident? \nThis program works with students to prepare their officers for an Active Shooter Incident. During the course\, the instructors will review the NEWEST Tactical Response Protocols and Guidelines and teach how to implement these lessons to your officers. The course teaches how to run a drill from planning meetings including stakeholders to running the drill and how to include and prepare the community. \nThe jam-packed day will also include: \n\nComplying with Federal and State Standards for Active Shooter Drills\nEvaluating your policies and updating them as necessary\nDocumenting the drill lesson plans and student attendance\nEvaluating your drills and making improvements\nCoordinating with schools and different agencies\nChoosing drill location and scenarios\nImplementing various levels of drills including coordinating with other emergency agencies\nActive shooter drills\n\nA segment will focus on school security to include evaluating school security\, working with school administration to address their concerns\, and developing plans for security updates. Every student will receive an Active Shooter Drill PowerPoint to use at their agencies.

DESCRIPTION:*This course is REMOTE ONLY. \nStudents will identify the various areas of a major investigation and create a road map to ensure all necessary areas are properly covered by the investigator. \nA must for New Detectives! Major cases are likely to bring media attention to your agency. Cases involving homicides and/or involving high-profile individuals have many moving parts and can quickly get out of control without the proper management. This course stresses what is needed for a successful prosecution to guide students on how to properly handle the case from the beginning of the investigation. \nTopics Covered: \n\nMajor case management goals and objectives\,\nUnderstanding all the components of a major investigation\,\nManaging and controlling the crime scene\,\nAllocating personnel\,\nCase reporting and documenting the investigation\,\nManaging various types of interviews and choosing the proper forum\,\nTracking leads\,\nManaging evidence\,\nEvaluating the investigation and debriefing the team\nPreparation for prosecution.

SUMMARY:Internal Affairs Investigations
DESCRIPTION:*This course is REMOTE ONLY. \nIn this age of widespread concerns of police brutality and defund- police protests\, it is the obligation of the Internal Affairs Team to be well trained to conduct fair\, professional\, and objective IA investigations that will stand up to public scrutiny. \nThe investigator will gain an understanding of police ethics\, barriers that may hinder ethical behavior\, and common types of police misconduct. We will also guide you through the legal requirements surrounding internal affairs investigations. From your department’s policies and relevant administrative laws to the legal issues related to record keeping and the releasing of information to the media\, you will be informed on the latest rulings and accepted procedures. In addition\, this course will provide effective techniques to prepare for and conduct interviews of complainants\, witnesses and anyone in your agency accused of wrongdoing or improper behavior.
